Stone’s Eye View

Write / Draw

Imagine a non-human perspective

The trees at Camp Westerbork, Bergen-Belsen and Falstad, that were there during the 1940s, are sometimes referred to as “silent witnesses” in recognition of everything that has taken place “under their watch”.

Choose an inanimate object, like a leaf or stone outside at the Memorial site, or in your local area. See if you can line up your camera so that you can take a photograph from the perspective of that object. As the object won’t have eyes, you can choose which side you prefer to position your camera.

How long has the object been there? What might it have witnessed over the years, decades or centuries? You can submit one photo and you are welcome to note your thoughts in the text box.
